Uwe Schmidt , also known as Atom Heart, AtomTM or Señor Coconut, among other pseudonyms, is a composer, musician and producer of German electronic music. He is known as the father of electrolatino, electrogospel and acitón (acid-reggaeton). Since the early days of his music in 1985, Schmidt has earned notoriety for his vast variety of projects, number of albums, collaborations and musical styles. His catalog includes work with artists such as Depeche Mode, Air, Bill Laswell, Yellow Magic Orchestra and Towa Tei, to name a few.
Originally from Frankfurt, Germany, Schmidt moved to Santiago, Chile in 1997. After his arrival, he launched the acclaimed album, El Baile Alemán (The German Dance) as part of the Señor Coconut project. After its launch, El Baile Alemán was edited internationally (in Germany, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Hong Kong, Brazil, USA, Mexico, Japan and Australia). In addition to his
already packed agenda of live performances, AtomTM has recently launched a new album under the name Alien Symphony, in collaboration with Japanese artist Masaki Sakamoto, developed by the Japanese label Music Mine.
AtomTM has completely remastered his catalog, which includes over 1,500 original pieces. To date, he has launched over 182 albums with different labels under multiple names.
